Cock Hero (CH) is a genre of Porn Music Videos. The main distinguishing feature of a Cock Hero video is the inclusion of a beat meter and/or an audible beat track. The viewer is usually challenged to stroke to the beat meter without stopping or looking away from the screen, for as long as they can, without having an orgasm. Due to this teasing nature, Cock Hero videos tend to be longer in duration than many PMVs. The name is a reference to the Guitar Hero video game.

History

The concept of Cock Hero was invented in February of 2009 by Milovana user lalaland when they published their first tease: Cock Hero Challenge - Match 1[1][2]

In 2015, Vice published an article by Emanuel Maiberg exploring the Cock Hero phenomenon. Mailberg writes:

There is a Guitar Hero for porn, and I just spent a very tense afternoon defiling my eyeballs with it. Cock Hero is a porn game that uses music and on-screen visual cues to tell the viewer at what rhythm to masturbate, with which hand, when to take breaks, and when to finish. I say "very tense" because both my girlfriend and I work from home, and every time she looked over, I had to explain that the wet butt on my screen bouncing up and down to the beat of a Moldovan hit single called "Chica Bomb" was not merely porn, but something I was viewing for research. Maiberg also notes that Cock Hero videos were significantly popular on Pornhub.

The latest and greatest Cock Hero videos regularly get upwards of a million views on PornHub, making them some of the most popular on the site.[3]

In December of 2020, Cock Hero videos were affected by the Great Pornhub Purge. The event was discussed by Cock Hero artists and fans on Milovana.[4]

Variants

Edge Hero either replaces the normal Cock Hero mechanics with timed edging cues instead, or combine them for a different experience.

Fap Hero is a specific kind of Cock Hero where the content is animated, typically in the form of hentai or 3D renderings.
