The World PMV Games 2022 competition was announced on /r/PornMusicVids by sabermix on January 20, 2022.[4]

Rules
The following rules were specified:[4]
- The runtime of the entries should not exceed six minutes.
- "World PMV Games 2022" had to appear in the video.
- Entries should follow a theme: "Battle!" Choose 2 Porn objects (Studio's\Pornstars\Sex Actions) and pit them against each other in some way.
- Each person was allowed one entry, it had to be original to the competition, and could not be a remix of another edit.
- Entries had to be published or submitted to the organizers between May 6th and May 13th.
Scoring
The scoring for the competition was done by eight judges and a public poll. Each judge was given a detailed scorecard to rate and rank all entries. The public vote was conducted through strawpoll.com and allowed voters to choose their three favorite entries. The winner of the public vote was weighted in the final ranking as being worth two judges' votes.[5]
